"Do You Ever Sit and Wonder"

Far away in the deep blue sky, I hear a clap of thunder.

It hasn’t started raining yet, but here I sit and ponder

We should be glad of thunder storms; the rain

Keeps the air fresh and the ground from drying up,

The plants thrive and animals stay alive.

Streams continue to fill and travel out to the sea.

Do you ever sit and wonder,

What earth would be like without the rain?

Far away in the deep, blue sky, I hear a clap of thunder.

I think about another time I will never see,

Where this World will be beat down by the sun’s heat,

So strong it dries up the clouds, and the ground cracks asunder.

What can live on a world so dry?

It would be a world devoid of living substance

Even the rocks will turn to dust

Will a wind still blow across the sky?

No longer will man care to track the stars or even know to cry.

Far away in the deep, blue sky, I hear a clap of thunder.

Do you ever sit and wonder?

It’s late at night; nothing but darkness is what I see.

The flash of lightning was hidden to me.

I wonder just what things in life are hidden away

Things we never know a glimmer about, each day;

We each are allowed certain things in life to live,

No two people, not even in the same family,

Know exactly the same, for we each have our own perspective

And we each have our own desires and opinions

No two people will have the exact same reactions,

So the way we treat our Earth, is there any wonder?

We were made to lend a hand and to love one another.

Every man on Earth, God made a brother.

Why don't we do the right thing and help each other?

Does it mean a storm of despair?

Far away in the deep, blue sky, I hear a clap of thunder.
